基になった模様は BLUE WILLOW PATTERN という中国より伝わったイギリスの伝統的なパターンです。長い年月・距離を経て伝わったなんとも不思議な東西折衷の模様です。
ウィリアム・ウォレンはこの間違えだらけの不思議な食器にさらなる意図的な間違えを加えました。ソーサーの模様がカップに。カップの模様がソーサーへ間違ってプリントされています。また大小のプレートの柄は、あべこべになっています。

*柄はランダムにプリントされており、同じ商品でも違った表情を楽しむことができます。
